Qualifying Type

Your system configuration may require particular entries and updates to be approved before becoming Live.

Leave requests often require supervisor approval and are a good example of records that will Await Authorisation before going Live or Rejected.

Other entries such as a reported Sickness would need no authorisation chain and therefore go straight to qualifying type: Live

Qualifying type options are:

  • Proposed – This level is used in a two-stage authorisation chain. A change of data, or a request, is submitted to the system with an authorisation level of Proposed. This will mean the data is not live in the system yet and will require someone with the right access level to move this onto the next level or reject the request/change. If an item is authorised at this level, it moves to the next stage of Awaiting Authorisation.
  • Awaiting Authorisation – This level is either the result of an item being authorised from Proposed or could be submitted into the system as a single level of authorisation. A change of data, or a request, is submitted to the system with an authorisation level of Awaiting Authorisation. This will mean the data is not live in the system yet and will require someone with the right access level to move this onto the next level or reject the request/change. If an item is authorised at this level, it will become live in the system.
  • Rejected – A person with the right access level may decide to reject a change of data, or a request, at any point of the authorisation change. The record will be still be retained in the system but will not be live. This gives the item an authorisation level of ‘Rejected’.
  • Live /No Authorisation Chain – This is when a change of data, or request, is live in the system. No further steps are required here.
