Terms

Use this tab to define the employment terms for the activity definition.

Salary Grade

Click and select, from the list, the salary grade that applies to the activity definition.

You can set up salary grades, and their scale points and values, by using Personnel > Terms and Conditions > Salary Grade.

Scale Point

Select, from the drop-down list, the scale point within the salary grade that applies to the activity definition. The employee’s salary grade and scale point are used with Whole Time Equivalent, Hours Per Week and Weeks Per Year to calculate the employee’s annual salary when you use the Apply Grade Changes wizard.

You might choose to leave this field blank because the scale point at which new employees start might depend on the new employee’s experience, skills, and qualifications. You can define the scale point for a new employee in their employment history record.

You can set up salary grades, and their scale points and values, by using Personnel > Terms and Conditions > Salary Grade.

Whole Time Equivalent

Select the whole time equivalent (WTE) code, which is used to define the fraction of the full-time definition the employee works.

A WTE definition includes the number of hours per week and the number of weeks per year.

You can set up the definitions of whole time equivalents, by using Personnel > Terms and Conditions > Whole Time Equivalent.

Hours/Week

Type the hours per week for this activity definition. You can enter the hours to five decimal places to allow for accurate determination of whole time equivalent values.

Fraction

Type the number of weeks per year for this activity definition.

Cost Centre

Click and select a cost centre from the list.

Employees are part of a payroll only when they are attached to cost centres, which are attached to payroll templates.

You can set up and maintain cost centres by using Payroll > Module Setup > Cost Centres.

Working Pattern

Select the employee’s working patternfrom the drop-down list.

You can set up working patterns, by using Personnel > Terms and Conditions > Working Pattern.

Holiday Grade

Select the holiday grade from the drop-down list.

You can set up holiday grades, by using Personnel > Terms and Conditions > Holiday Grade.

Equal Opportunities

SOC

Select or type the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code.

You can set up the SOCs by using Personnel > Your Organisation > SOC.

Activity Group

Select or type an activity group.

You can set up activity groups by using Personnel > Your Organisation > Activity Group.
