Holiday Allowances

Use this window to record details of the employee’s current and historical holiday allowance records. You can have a number of historical definitions that describe previous years’ grades. There can also be more than one grade for a year.

Activity

Select, from the drop-down list, the activity for the employee that the holiday allowance refers to. The entries displayed in the list are are activities in the employee’s employment history records that have a Primary Active or Active status. Activities in the employee’s employment history records with a status of Historical and Proposed are not included.

Holiday Grade

Select the holiday grade for the selected employee’s activity. The grade defines the number of day’s holiday the employee is entitled to.

You can set up definitions of holiday grades, by using Personnel > Terms and Conditions > Holiday Grade.

Description

Type a description for the holiday grade. The description from the selected holiday grade definition is displayed as a default.

Reference

Any addition reference they may need to be recorded, typically used for reporting purposes.

Start Date

Type the start date of the holiday year. The start date from the selected holiday grade definition is displayed as a default.

End Date

Type the end date of the holiday year. The end date from the selected holiday grade definition is displayed as a default.

Number Of Days

The number of days the employee is entitled to in the year is displayed, which can be overridden.

If you create a holiday record for a new employee and the Pro Rata Start Date check box is selected on the Absences tab in the HR Application – Features window, the system sets the holiday allowance to a fraction of the full amount by using the employee’s start date.

Number Of Hours

If required, they holiday allowance can be expressed in hours, as opposed to or in addition to days.
